Match the Meissners’ Passion for Mountain Lions!

0% Percent to Goal
We reached our goal, but please keep giving!

We’ve met the match goal of $100K!  The Meissners are so impressed and grateful that they have increased their match, so please keep giving!  Thank you to everyone who has participated.

Helmut and Patricia Meissner are on a mission to inspire every-day-folks, from all walks of life to do their part for mountain lions and wildlife in California. As Malibu community members, they have a great admiration for their puma neighbors and want to make sure they can move and thrive without the dangers posed by crossing the 101 Freeway.

“We were very moved when we learnt Paige, a 9-year old girl from Topanga, dedicates a substantial part of her free time to create candles she sells to raise funds for the Santa Monica Mountains cougars. Let’s take a page from Paige and show the younger generation that we grown-ups care about the wildlife in the parks that surround us. More than 50% of the mountain lions’ habitat was destroyed in the Woolsey fire. Plus, their home is torn apart by highways. Let’s prove our community stands together – not only with our fellow humans, but also with the wildlife we share this place with. We not only owe it to the cougars, we owe it to the human generations after us! Thank you, Paige!”

Every gift gets us that much closer to making the wildlife crossing at Liberty Canyon a reality!

The National Wildlife Federation is grateful to The Meissners for their generosity and for sharing their love of all animals, especially big cats, with our community!
